Nominations for our 2009-2010 Nurse of the Year Program

The Deer Valley Education Foundation is looking for nominations for our 2009-2010 Nurse of the Year Program sponsored by John C. Lincoln Hospital - Deer Valley.

Please nominate those special nurses who have positive interactions with students, educate students and parents, have knowledge of community resources, knowledge of children’s health issues and who provide a positive image of the nursing profession.

We want to celebrate and spotlight those exceptionally skilled and dedicated nurses who have gained the respect and admiration of students, parents, and co-workers. The candidate must have completed 3 years as a school nurse in the Deer Valley Unified School District.

Nominations must be in the Deer Valley Education Foundation office at District Office by 4:00 p.m. on March 11th.

Nominees should NOT know that they have been nominated or who nominated them!

November 5 to November 12 – Applications reviewed by Educational Services
November 14 to November 30 – Applications reviewed by Impact Grant Committee
November 30 / December 1– Impact Grant Committee meets to select grant recipients
December 3 – Applicants contacted
December 8 – Checks awarded at DVUSD Governing Board Meeting (7pm)
May 19, 2010 – Final reports due to DVEF

DUAL ENROLLMENT/AP TEST SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Thanks to BHHS Legacy Foundation, the Deer Valley Education Foundation is able to offer scholarships to aid financially eligible DVUSD junior and senior high school students who have an interest in any type of medical career. This scholarship will pay for dual enrollment classes and/or cover the costs of AP exams.

Linda McClintock Named 2008 – 2009 School Nurse of the Year

Deer Valley Education Foundation and John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital have chosen Linda McClintock, Deer Valley Middle School Nurse, as the 2008-2009 DVEF School Nurse of the Year. The award, now in its sixth year, acknowledges excellence in school nursing practice and leadership in school health. ( Photos included )
