The DVUSD Family Support Program aids families in our school district who are in crisis. Many families are struggling to pay their bills due to the current inflation, rising housing prices, and salaries not keeping up with the cost of living. The school district social workers quickly identify families lacking basic needs. Deer Valley Education Foundation’s goal is to keep the students of these families in school and on track to graduate, which helps fulfill our mission to foster excellence in education by funding programs that enhance the capabilities of Deer Valley’s schools, stimulate students’ academic achievement, and enrich the learning environment.

The DVEF Board committed our organization to funding shelter, necessities, and food to bridge the gap between families living on the street or in their cars and services they need. Since that time, we have expanded this program to include the following:

  • Hotel Stays for Several Nights
  • Food Boxes & Food Cards
  • Personal Hygiene Items
  • Clothing Closets

DVUSD Family Support Program assists families being evicted from their homes, losing employment, abandoned students, and students' parents who passed away. In every situation, the families or students struggled financially and needed immediate assistance as they sought different agencies in the Valley.
